How we are funded
NewsPrism.co.uk is operated by Prism House Media Ltd., a private limited company registered in England and Wales. Our funding comes from a mix of revenue streams, none of which determines our editorial conclusions. These include display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, content licensing and event or media partnerships. Sponsored or commercial material is always clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed as required by UK law and best practice. Our Editorial Policy sets out the principle that commercial relationships never dictate the conclusions we reach in our journalism.
Affiliate links explained
Some articles on NewsPrism.co.uk contain affiliate links. These are links to products, services or retailers, and if you click one and then make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The standard disclosure we use near these links or at the top of such articles reads:
“This article contains affiliate links. NewsPrism.co.uk may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.”
Affiliate revenue helps cover the costs of producing independent journalism, from research to fact-checking to hosting. We never allow the existence of an affiliate relationship to influence what we write or the editorial stance we take. Our editorial and commercial teams operate separately, and our journalists are not required to prioritise affiliate-friendly topics or products.
Where disclosures appear
Affiliate disclosures are placed prominently either directly next to the relevant link or at the top of the article, so you can see them before you read or click. If a piece contains multiple affiliate links, we may include a general disclosure at the head of the article to ensure clarity. We aim to make these notices as unobtrusive as possible while meeting our legal and ethical obligations.
Display advertising
We run display advertising on NewsPrism.co.uk. These ads are served by us and by third-party networks. No advertiser has any influence over our editorial decision-making, story selection or coverage. If you see an advertisement on a news article, it does not mean that the advertiser has endorsed the content or that we endorse the advertiser. Advertisers cannot buy positive coverage, and we maintain a strict operational separation between the advertising team and the newsroom. Review access, event tickets and press access
Occasionally we receive products, services, event tickets or press access for review purposes. This access is always disclosed within the relevant article, and we link to our Reviews Policy for further detail. Receiving such access never guarantees a positive review, nor does it affect our editorial independence. Our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves, oversees the review of sensitive stories to ensure that any such arrangements are properly declared.
Editorial independence
No advertiser, sponsor, affiliate partner or commercial stakeholder controls our editorial conclusions. Our Editor-in-Chief, Victoria Harcourt, and the entire editorial team make all journalistic decisions independently. The advertising, affiliate and partnerships teams are operationally separate from the newsroom, and there is no scenario in which a commercial relationship can dictate what we publish.
